A Passing Fancy はカナダのガレージバンドで、これが唯一作（1968 年リリース）。
Digitally remastered edition of this album from the Canadian band. Formed in 1967 and originally known as the Dimensions, this band was built around the talents of singer/songwriter Jay Telfer and bassist/keyboard player Fergus Hambleton. Managed by Bernie Finkelstein (Bruce Cockburn/True North Records founder) for a short period, they switched their name to the infinitely hipper (at the time) a Passing Fancy. The group achieved initial successes playing Toronto’s vibrant club circuit, including a headlining stint at the 1967 Toronto Expo. The resulting publicity saw them discovered by Columbia Records, which subsequently released a string of four singles to Radio. Even though all four singles charted in Canada, this album was not released until years later. Pacemaker. 2009.
ガレージ度で言えばボーナストラックとして収録された M1 のシングルバージョンで、モノラルでファズ度高め。 シングルでリリースされた楽曲はすべてアルバムに収められているので、もしやテイク違いがあれば CD 化のボーナスで（M1 であり最初のシングルの A 面のように）追加されておりましょうけれどもそういうことはありませんのでたぶん、同じテイクなのでしょう・・・が、これのモノラル（それがおそらくはオリジナルなのかと思われ）も聴いてみたかったところ。
基本的にはガレージといえどもソフトな印象で、ポップなサイケと印象付けられるところなんですが、どういうわけか別のレーベルからリリースされたシングルに M8 であるところの「Your Trip」があり、タイトルのように妙に浮足立ったサイケっぷりなのが興味深いです。
