Collage というバンド（ボーカルグループ）がソフトロック界ではいくつかあったとのことなんですが、私が知ってるのはこれだけ。 1968 年 1 月にリリースされた唯一作は当時は売れなかったもよう。 女性 2 人のボーカルって聞いてすっとんできたにせよ、もう 2 人の男性もボーカルをとる、いわゆるボーカルグループなんでご承知おきください。 っていうかボーカルグループなんだからハーモニーは段違いに良く、ふんだんにオーケストラなんか使っちゃってるもんだから豪華ですし、レッキングクルーやソフトロック界のみなさんも大挙してやってきていますんで、かえってなんで売れなかっただろうってホント世の中はわからない。
むしろサンシャインポップとはいいきれない、その立ち位置の微妙さが悪かったのか。 これはこれでいいと思うんだけどなぁ、軟弱に思われちゃったのかなぁ。

Sounding like a groovy hybrid of the Free Design and the Mamas And the Papas, the L.A.-based Collage recorded one fab LP for Smash Records. Released in January 1968, the Collage features songs penned by Curt Boettcher, Roger Nichols, the Addrisi Brothers, Price And Walsh and several originals by the band themselves. Produced by Phil Spector/Wrecking Crew alumnus Steve Douglas, this gem of an album also features the participation of fellow Wrecking Crew members Hal Blaine, Joe Osborn, Larry Knechtel, and Mike Deasy.
